Autumn Potion Apothecary invites children to gather, pour, mix, scoop and create their own autumn potions using seasonal treasures, water, herbs, petals, spices and whatever else captures their curiosity. There is no set outcome and no “right” potion to make. Instead, children are given the space to experiment, imagine, investigate and see what happens.

Designed to grow with children from 9 months to 5 years, the booklet includes EYFS links, age and stage adaptations, inclusion and SEND support, suggested resources, adult interaction guidance, key vocabulary, 8 printable vocabulary cards, plus an observation and possible next steps page.

From early sensory exploration and schemas to imaginative storytelling, measuring, prediction and scientific thinking, the same invitation can be revisited and adapted again and again as children develop.
