Nature Mandala Prompt Flash Cards
Nature Mandala Prompt Cards
Sometimes the simplest resources are the ones that get used the most.
I made these Nature Mandala Cards quite a while ago after sharing some of our own nature based play, and had lots of people asking for them… then somehow completely forgot to actually put them on the website 🙈
The pack includes six printable prompt cards, with ideas for creating a circle, flower, face, sun and spiral, alongside an open ended My Own Design card.
Take them outside, pop one beside a basket of collected treasures or add them to your loose parts provision. Children can gather leaves, petals, pebbles, sticks, pinecones and whatever else they discover, then use the images as inspiration rather than something they have to copy.
There is plenty happening within such a simple invitation: arranging and positioning, noticing shape and pattern, comparing size, exploring symmetry, developing fine motor control and making independent creative decisions. Most importantly, there is no single finished result. A spiral can become enormous, a face can have twelve eyes and the child who completely ignores the card and creates something else entirely is still very much doing it right.
Designed to be printed, laminated and used again and again, indoors or outdoors, across your continuous provision or as part of a planned invitation.
