The Brown Thread | 5 Page Colour Exploration Booklet 🤎

SKU: TEYE-085

Brown is everywhere. In the mud beneath our feet, the bark on the trees, cardboard boxes, wooden toys, familiar foods and the places we pass every day. The Brown Thread is a simple little printable designed to help children slow down, notice it and see where their curiosity takes them.

Created for 0–8 years, this isn't another activity pack full of things you need to set up or work through. There are just a few gentle starting points, with plenty of space for children to explore brown through real experiences, sensory play, nature, mark making, conversation and open ended play.

Inside you'll find our much loved Shades of Brown page, exploring Oat, Honey, Cinnamon, Chestnut, Cocoa and Espresso, alongside a Brown Hunt that can be taken around your setting, garden, home, woodland or wider community.

There are also three really simple ways to explore brown through natural sensory materials, colour mixing and open ended resources, plus practitioner prompts to help you take the thread further without automatically reaching for another activity.

The Brown Thread loosely sits alongside our Belonging, Beginnings & Community curriculum, but you absolutely don't need to use the curriculum to use this. Take it anywhere, use it at any time of year and adapt it completely around the children in front of you.

Included: 5 printable A4 pagesAge: 0–8 yearsFormat: Digital PDF downloadPerfect for: Childminders, nurseries, preschools, schools, home educators and curious little people

Find it. Feel it. Mix it. Notice it.

The thread doesn't tell you where to go. The children do. 🤎
