Turn autumn leaves into an open-ended invitation for art, observation and discovery. 🍂🎨

The Leaf Printing Studio invites children to explore the shapes, colours, textures and intricate patterns of real autumn leaves through printing and creative mark making. Rather than working towards identical pictures or a predetermined craft, children are encouraged to experiment with paint, pressure, colour mixing and different leaves, noticing what happens and making their own creative choices.

Designed to grow with children from 9 months to 5 years, the booklet supports everything from babies’ first sensory experiences with paint and natural materials through to older children investigating leaf veins, repeating patterns, colour blending and creating their own nature-inspired artwork. It includes EYFS links, age and stage adaptations, inclusion and SEND support, suggested resources, adult interaction guidance, key vocabulary, 8 printable vocabulary cards, plus an observation and possible next steps page.     Leaf Printing Studio
